What Went Well Today Was:
In Literacy we continued to look at our fur trade article. In Math we had a pre assessment on connecting fractions to decimals. In Science we continued to looked at some of the definitions in our Magnetism unit (Magnet, Repel, Attract, Poles etc.) In Gym we spent time practicing our stick handling skills in floor hockey and played some games. Agenda Message: - We had our bake sale to raise money for Pink Shirt Day. - Please return your field trip for by Friday March 2. Our field trip is on Monday March 5.

What Went Well Today Was:
In Literacy we continued to look at our fur trade article. In Math we had a check in comparing different decimals visually and pictorially using our mathematical vocabulary. In Science we looked at some of the definitions in our Magnetism unit (Magnet, Repel, Attract, Poles etc.) In Library we looked at some leveled book series and in Music we continued to practice our music on the keyboard. In the afternoon we had an amazing pink day assembly! Agenda Message: - Tomorrow is also a pink shirt day so please try and wear pink again. - We will be having a baking sale to raise money for Pink Shirt Day. - Please return your field trip for by Friday March 2. In Literacy we started a new non fiction text on Canadian Explorers and the fur trade in North America. This is also a part of our Social studies curriculum. In Math we had a little assessment with competing decimals and drawing them on a grid. In Science we looked at Magnets and conducted some small experiments creating temporary magnets. We ended with looking at prefixes and suffixes again and practiced putting them into sentences. Agenda Message: Tomorrow and Wednesday is Pink Shirt day. Please show support and wear pink. We will have a Pink Shirt Assembly tomorrow at 2:30 pm. Vaccinations are this Wednesday February 28th. Field trip forms need to be returned by Friday March 2nd. Our field trip is on Monday March 5th to the Arts Commons. Today what went well was:
In Literacy we looked at a new article about the 2018 winter olympics. We will be finding the main idea in our non-fiction texts. In Music we started to learn a new song on the keyboards. We are also researching Celtic music. In Math we talked about our problem last week and went over some of the questions. We then spent the rest of the class making corrections or finishing our work. We ended with a self assessment. For Gym we had Alien Inline Skating and did an amazing job! Make sure we return our forms so we can all participate. In Science we are about to start magnetism. Agenda Message: - Alien inline started today. - Our family skate night is this week Feb 22 from 6:30-7:30pm bring your family and come skate with us. - Make sure your return your forms so you can participate with us. In Music we practiced on our keyboards. In Math we started a big problem that will assess our skills on multiplication and division. It will take us a couple days to complete this. We had library today and Mrs. Hunt showed us some excellent books by Dave Pilkey. Agenda message! - *NEW Inline skating forms were sent home today, and need to be returned ASAP. preferably by tomorrow! Everyone needs to sign this form (even if you have already signed the previous one).... However, if you have already paid you do not need to pay again. In Math we introduced and finished a large word problem for division. We used our problem solving skills to get to the answer. In Science we started to build parallel circuits and introduced adding a switch. In Gym we started our last week of gymnastics and started to do cart wheels. Due to fewer kids in the class we took more time to give and receive feedback with one another during our literacy block.
In Math we finished our our practice of long division, and Mrs. Shaver showed us some fun math card games. In Science we finished our vocabulary and looked at what makes a positive or negatively charged particle.. Agenda Message: - It is super icy and cold outside.
