Today What Went Well Was
In Literacy we took time to check in with our guided reading teacher to get feedback on our work. Math is going really well! And we all seem to really enjoy working on multiplication. Today we looked at how we visualize multiplication through arrays. Agenda Message: No School next Friday December 8th This means fun lunch money needs to be returned by Thursday December 7th. Today What Went Well
In math we continued with our multiplication table, specifically looking at the "magic 9s". Our Science Wetland unit is going well and we are very proud of the work we did with our posters. In music today we learnt about Elvis and his impact in the music industry. In Language Arts we looked at some figurative language to help make our writing more descriptive. In math we looked at more patterns and relationships in our multiplication table. Specifically the 2s, 4s, and 8s. We are beginning to look at different parts of figurative language such as metaphors and similes. We had library today so make sure we are returning/or signing back out our books. In Literacy Block we read aloud in our guided reading groups. We were looking at descriptive language and how it can tell us about our character's personality. In Math we started back up with multiplication and looked for patterns and relationships in the multiplication table. In Gym we learned some more basketball handling drills, and started passing. In Science we finished up our wetland posters and gave ourselves a self assessment with our rubric. Agenda Message: Pita lunch forms were sent home. Please have it returned be Friday December 8th. In literacy we finished our work around the main character in our guided reading novels. In Math we had one final check in to see how well we understand making a graph from a table. In Literacy Block we continued with describing the characteristics of our main character and connected it to the circle of courage. In Math started to graph the data we collected and made a criteria for what every bar graph will need. In Social Studies we finished up writing about John Alexander McCrae as a Canadian Change Maker In Science we worked on our Wetlands poster. In Literacy Block we looked and descriptive language that describes our main character. In Math we wrote our own questions in class and collected our data from our fellow classmates. We will eventually use this data on a graph. In Science we continued to make our good copies of our wetland poster. This morning we finished our main problem booklet in Literacy Block. We are continuing with our guided reading groups and novels. In Math we continued with collecting data and looked at the difference between first hand and second hand data, and when it is appropriate to use them. In Gym we finished up with our volleyball unit and will start basketball on Monday. Agenda Message: - Conferences Today Thursday November 16 (3:30pm-7:30pm) and Friday November 17 (8:30am- 1:00pm). - Today was a half day of school due to Conferences. - Friday there is no school due to Conferences. - Our Book Fair is available all evening during Conferences. Make sure you stop in during the next couple days. If you buy a book your name will be put into a draw for our grand prize. |
