Today What Went Well Was:
In Literacy we are finishing up our research projects on extreme weather. In Math we had a day to complete work that was not finished. We took time to plan for activity day and brainstorm what activities we would be volunteering at. In Gym we continued with track and field, working on our strides. To end the day we met up with our grade one buddies at James Short and read our stories to them, and played on the playground. Agenda Message: Friday is our Activity Day at 10 am. Grade 5s have been planning and will run the entire event. Monday June 25th is our awards ceremony at 10:30am. If your child is up for an award you will be notified. All are welcome to come. Tuesday June 26th is our Grade 5 farewell, and will be at 2pm. This will be for only the grade 5 students and their friends, family, and guardians. You will be free to leave once the event is over. Wednesday the 27th is our last day of school and a HALF DAY!!!

Today What Went Well Was:
In Literacy we started our extreme weather project. In Math we practiced translations (slides). In in the afternoon we wrote journal prompts on our legacy at G.W. Skene, and some of our highlights. In science we looked at the difference between weather and climate, and introduced the different types of clouds in our atmosphere. We ended the day by watching a brief video on blizzards. In Literacy we continued our research around extreme weather. In Science we looked at more reversible and irreversible changes in our everyday live. In Math we continued our lion reflection artwork. In literacy block we looked at some extreme weather in the regions of Canada and compared them with one another. In Math we practices some transformations. Slides, Flips, and Turns. In Gym we practiced our routine with Rubix. This was our last time before our performance. In Art we started to draw a lions face by reflecting the other half. In Science we researched the differences and similarities between reversible and irreversible changes. At the end of the day we did a big clean up. Agenda Message: Movement with a Message ends today. In LIteracy we took time to make corrections or receive feedback from the teacher on our social studies regions project. In Math we worked on our prism and pyramid region animals We finished touching up our birdhouses and added another ;ayer of paint. IN the afternoon we started a science experiment write up about chemical and physical reactions. We had our first day dancing with Rubix and movement with a message! we will be preforming this dance for all the parents in our Celebration of Learning on Thursday Night from 6-7pm. In Literacy we worked on our region booklets and our regions project. In Math we made animals from our regions by making prisms and pyramids. In Gym we focused on track and field. In the afternoon we painted our stained glass window and our bird houses. Agenda Message: Today What Went Well Was:
In Literacy we looked at natural resources in the different regions of Canada. In Math Mrs. Shaver introduced different 3-D shapes. We took a deeper look at different pyramids and prisms. In Health we finished our Human Sexuality unit. During Mindfulness we did a school wide garbage clean up taking care of our school property. In the afternoon we worked on our stained glass and had track and field outside. Agenda Message: Patrol Picnic is tomorrow. Pancake breakfast at James Short is on Friday June 8. In Literacy we worked on our regions project. In Gym we played some indoor team games. We finished tracing our design on our change maker Mural. We also started to paint our birdhouses. We will finish painting both our houses and window this week. We had a special guest today named Rubix. He is a Calgarian rapper and he will be teaching us about courage and helping us write our own rap songs and dance choreography. We finished the day with Math and design an art piece with using only quadrilaterals, and the letters of our name. Agenda Message: Patrol picnic is on June 7th. Today In Literacy Block was our last day to complete our research for our region. In math we had a summative assessment for 2-D shapes and quadrilaterals. We finished with reviewing and practicing more shapes on the geoboards. Agenda Message: Have a great Weekend! we have a lot coming up! We have a special guest coming on Monday June 4th. In Literacy most if us started our regions project. In Math we reviewed quadrilaterals and used geo boards to create different 2-D shapes We worked on our change maker mural. In Science we worked on comparing different chemical and physical reactions. Agenda Message: June is just around the corner and that means we are on the final home stretch.
